Frequently Asked Questions


I have decided on a party date and time, what do I do from here?

Go onto the website, under the parties tab there is a booking form which you can download and complete. The form outlines all the details we need including food choices, parent platters and any up sizes if required.

A deposit of $100.00 is payable to secure the booking and if you are able to contact Doodlebugs direct we can process that for you over the phone. Once the completed booking form is received a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Can I bring my own food?

We are a fully catered establishment. We have a fully stocked kitchen/cafe with a wide variety of food and drink. No outside food or drink is allowed. Birthday cake, baby food & allergies provide the only exception. Please see staff for special requirements.


You close at 3.00 pm weekdays – are there any times that you can do after school parties?

We are able to do after school parties from 3.30 pm on the first Friday of every month. Our Doodlebugs Disco is the first Friday of every month and on that day, we are open from
9.00 am – 8.00 pm.

How long can we play for?

Upon entry, you may stay and play for as little or as long as you like. We do not issue pass outs.

For private hire parties, what time should I arrive for the function?

As the host family, you may arrive 15 minutes before your function to get seated and be ready to greet your guests as they arrive.

Please ask you guests not to arrive before the 5.30pm start time. From closing time at 5.00pm until the start of your party at 5.30 pm we are cleaning, organising and tidying the Centre making sure that everything is “ship-shape” and ready for you.

When I book a weekend party am I able to choose the party room & parent table outside the party room that is to be reserved for me?

No. We allocate the 3 parent tables located at the front of the party rooms depending on the time of the party. All other parent tables are a reserved table in our main cafe area and you may request a particular table in the cafe if you would like.

Are lolly bags provided with the party packages?

No. Lolly bags are not provided with the party packages. We are able to provide lolly bags for $3.00 each and they contain lollies, a sticker, a balloon, a toy and a pack of Alphabet Wiggles cards.

If I have ordered parent platters what time do they arrive at our table?

Adult platters arrive at your time 1 hour after the commencement of your party. For example, a party booked at 10.00 am would receive the adult platters to their table at 11.00 am.

Am I able to request the platters to come earlier or later than the allocated time?

Unfortunately, this is not possible.

Am I able to order/cancel parent platters on the day?

Parent platters that are not pre-ordered may not be available, however we will do our best to accommodate any last minute orders. Parent platters are unable to be cancelled on the day.

How is the party structured and when will I have access to my party room?

Your 1 1/2 hour party is broken up into 3 half hour blocks. For example, let’s say your party is at 10.00 am……. from 10.00 – 10.30 is unhosted play – during this time, your host/s will come and introduce themselves to you. From 10.30 – 11.00 is your party train ride and games and music in the function room. From 11.00 – 11.30 it is on to the party room for food and cake. Going on the example time of 10.00 am, your party room will be re-set and cleared for your party between 10.30am and 11.00am (15 mins to clean and 15 minutes to re-set).

If you have any additional decorations that you would like to put into your party room you will be able to do so during that period.

I have additional tableware, when can I bring this in?

If you have additional tableware for your party, we ask that you bring it in the day before so that we can put it in your party box ready for your hosts to set up on the big day.

If your decorations are over and above standard tableware and include bunting, hanging decorations and/or wall murals, we are happy to set these up for you but this will incur a fee of $15.00.

May I leave my children at Doodlebugs?

Parents/Carers/Guardians are not allowed to leave their children in the centre without a guardian (at least 18 years or older).

Do you provide invitations and thank you notes?

Invitations and thank you notes are free to download from our website. We have professionally printed copies available for 20c ea
